Buy full article Abstract According to the variety of psychological, medical or sociological disciplines interested in this field, the ways of looking at adolescence are numerous. It may be regarded as a period generally characterized by opposition and rebellion against normative rules or parental expectations as well as others focus on the typical physical changes, educational aspects, aspects of personality development and maturation, or specific psychopathology of this period. Interdisciplinary communication has not always been easy, as perspectives may differ a lot. Nevertheless, there is a richness in different perspectives which may provide the prospects of more fruitful cooperation in daily work and research. One of the aims of the World Federation and Society of Adolescentology (WFSA) is to try and surmount differences or difficulties and make use of the advantages on a way to fruitful interdisciplinary and international research work in the field of adolescentology.
